Shinku is from Tokyo. When he was younger, he practiced Martial arts and was a black belt at his Dojo. He also mastered the sword style of Battou-sai, a forbidden sword style. The Battou-sai style was used to kill 200 people, therefore making illegal to learn/teach. Shinku, knowing that, wanted to know it anyway, his found an old-man, named Yoru Hoshikage. Yoru taught Tetsuki Battou-sai, after learning the Battou-sai, Yoru revealed that he was the one who killed 200 people. Shinku left Tokyo, knowing that if anyone knew he learned Battou-sai, that was it for him.
